Shields Pilots Apple Fusion

Ever wonder why you can’t run PC applications on your MAC?  Shields is leading the way on testing medical applications built for the PC environment on Apple.  The key to making this work is virtualization.  By running Apple’s virtualization software, Shields has successfully built and deployed its PC environment onto Apple with no issues.  Now Shields medical staff with Apple computers at home can access critical PC apps from home.

iPad & Imaging

OsiriX is the software that makes viewing images on the iPad possible.  Shields in partnership with The Hand Center of Western Massachusetts is exploring the possibilities of sharing images on the iPad with their patients.  This reduces cost by eliminating film & related costs and aids in the patient education process.  Shields.com and Shields Express Link are accessible using the new Apple iPad.
